Sibshop-Circles of Life Conference @ Radisson Paper Valley

COL Sibshop - sibs with facilitatorThis Sibshop is offered to children ages 8-17 who have siblings with disabilities and are attending the Circles of Life annual conference.  Deadline for registering for the conference and enrolling in Sibshop is April 13. LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE.

Parents enrolling their child in Sibshop must submit their Sibshop Registration Form by April 18. Send to WisconSibs, 211 E Franklin St., Appleton, WI 54911

Teen Sib Leadership Day @ Team Leadership Center

Siblings of people with disabilities who are 13-17 years old may apply to be selected as a Teen Sib Leader. Selected teens receive a free one-day leadership training session.  This day is focused on personal leadership skills and having fun with other teen sibs.  Teen Sib Leaders are then eligible to become counselors and mentors at SibDays of Summer and leaders at a variety of WisconSibs events and opportunities.

The Journey Forward program is being offered in Stevens Point, WI to adult siblings and their guests.  June 23, 2018 is the first of TWO workshops that make up this program.  Adult siblings concerned about  future plans, including legal, financial, support and benefits, will find these workshops beneficial.

Have no idea where to start or what plans may be in place?  This workshop is for YOU!  Journey Forward is uniquely designed to address the concerns of adults who have siblings with disabilities.

This annual conference for family members, professionals, and self-advocates is presented by organizations that work in collaboration within the K.I.T.E. Building; SOAR Fox Cities, Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin – Fox Valley, WI Autism Society, and WisconSibs.

Topics are relevant to the immediate and ongoing needs and interests of anyone caring about people with disabilities, including speech therapy, housing, advocacy, occupational therapy and more.  Plus a resource fair and lunch. Just $10…includes lunch.

Our first event will be held at Copper Rock Coffee, Downtown Appleton at 5:30 pm on May 16. Come join us for coffee, dinner or dessert! (Pay your own order)

Details about Santa Celebration 2021“Santa Celebration” is designed for families who have children with special needs and their siblings of any age. The event begins at 9:00 am and continues until 11:30 am.  Families may come/leave any time and also may schedule a specific time slot to visit Santa, helping them avoid long lines and giving children more time to play and parents relax. Volunteer Santa Helpers available to assist with children.

Activities during the event include: Cookie decorating, games, crafts, face painting, fun in the outdoor Santa’s courtyard, letters to Santa, breakfast treats, hot and cold beverages, and much, much more!

$10 for adults. Children are free.
