Grab a couple packages of Peeps, a box, some glue, a little paper or decorations, and you’ve got fun for an afternoon.

HOW TO ENTER

Then take 2 photos and send them to [email protected] . The theme this year is “Who Are the Peeps in My Neighborhood?”. The contest runs from March 1 to April 5, 2021.

Sibshop at Urban Air Adventure Park @ Urban Air

In collaboration with the Urban Air Adventure Park, WisconSibs is offering a unique and safe in-person Sibshop opportunity for kids 6-12 who have a sibling with a disability.

Join us for a very special event – just for WisconSibs Sibshop participants! We will have Urban Air all to ourselves for 2 hours to connect with other Sibshoppers AND play in the Adventure Park!!!

Lots and lots of space for social distancing. Urban Air staff to keep things clean. Sibshop facilitators and volunteers to make it fun and comfortable for siblings.

FREE admission for WisconSibs Sibshop participants, thanks to a grant from the SAC Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!

Every year on April 10, the Siblings celebrate their special day.

We cheer for siblings, especially the sisters and brothers of people with disabilities. Celebrate today! In the words of countless sibs, “My sib helped make me who I am today”.

Sibshop at Building for Kids @ Building for Kids

Building for KidsIn collaboration with the Building for Kids Children’s Museum in downtown Appleton, WisconSibs is offering a unique and safe in-person Sibshop opportunity.

Join us for an Exhibit Exploration Session for the whole household with a pull-out Sibshop for Sibs!

With this very special Exhibit Exploration event, households with a child with disabilities and their siblings will be able to register for 90 minutes of exclusive access to one of four exhibit groupings in the museum, meaning they will be the only ones playing on those exhibits.

Not only that, but the Sibs in each household may attend a fun, socially-distant Sibshop session in the large classroom while parents and child(ren) with disabilities continue their exploration in their Exhibit area.

FREE admission for eligible families (have a child with disabilities and at least one sibling of that child ages 6-12). Register at the Building for Kids.

Two dates in 2021:

April 17, 2021        10:30-Noon

Circles of Life Sibshop 2021 @ Zoom

Sibshop at Circles of Life

Circles of Life is Wisconsin’s annual conference for families who have children with disabilities. This event brings together families and the providers who support them to learn, connect, and become more knowledgeable about programs and services for their children.

Sibshop offered to siblings ages 8-12

WisconSibs offers Sibshop for attendees who are 8-12 years old and have a sibling with developmental disabilities.

Sibshops are celebrations of the many contributions made by sisters and brothers of kids with special health or developmental needs.

This special Zoom Sibshop takes place Saturday, May 8 at 10:00 am. It is for kids ages 8-12 who have siblings with disabilities and have registered for the virtual Circles of Life conference.

At Sibshop kids will meet other kids who share the challenges and joys of having a sibling with disabilities. Of course, like all Sibshops, this one will be sprinkled with lots of fun stuff like games, scavenger hunts, and even Pokemon!

REGISTERED SIBSHOP PARTICIPANTS – DOWNLOAD AND PRINT ACTIVITY PAGES No need to complete this activity in advance. Bring markers to Sibshop so we can do the activity together.

Teen Sib Leadership Day @ River Tyme Bistro

Teen Sib Leadership Day (TSLD) – June 16, 2021 -River Tyme Bistro – Appleton, WI

This one-day training guarantees to be exciting and fun while helping teen sibs build leadership skills. The TSLD event features nationally-known motivational speaker, Neil Ihde. He will offer an up-beat, interactive presentation that will motivate each participant to lead the best life they can.

With our summer theme, “Sibling Cruise”, this Teen Sib Leadership Day includes a cruise down the Fox River and lots of nautical fun.

Date: Wednesday, June 16, 2021
Location: River Tyme Bistro (and Fox River Tours)  425 W. Water St., Appleton, WI

To attend, you must be a new or previous recipient of the Teen Sibling Leadership Award.

SibDays of Summer 2021 @ Plamann Park

SibDays of Summer – July 19-23, 2021

This high energy day-camp for siblings ages 6-12  is held at Plamann Park just north of Appleton. Each day is packed with activities, including swimming, arts and crafts, hikes and hunts, games, carnival and playground fun. PLUS—siblings have the opportunity to share and celebrate the challenges and joys of being a sibling. We will have cruising through the week having fun with our 2021 theme “Sibling Cruise”.

 All campers start the first day at the Chris Brandt shelter. Older campers expand into their own shelter part of each day.

10am-3pm daily
Sign up for 3 or more days.
$40 per day* or $175 for all 5 days **

SibDays directors are trained WisconSibs Sibshop facilitators.  Campers especially enjoy their teen and young adult small group leaders, many of whom also have siblings with special needs. Space is limited to 45 campers.

*Campership grants are awarded, as funds are available, to families needing assistance. For information, check the financial assistance box on the enrollment form found in this brochure.

** Check with your case manager to learn if your county will pay some or all of the fee for this sibling respite program.
